Current Opportunities

VeritOps helps growing Illinois manufacturers — job shops, contract manufacturers, custom fabricators, and specialty producers — eliminate operational chaos and capture hidden profits. We find the untapped value hiding in existing operations and build systems that perform so teams can focus on strategic work.

We're a growing operations firm, and you'll have a front-row seat to our journey, with the potential to become a key player in our future.

Position Summary

You're the person who makes it real. Our Fractional Operations Leaders set the direction — you own the projects and deliver the results.

Most of the time that means you're inside a job shop or contract manufacturer in Illinois with 20–80 people, fixing something specific: a quoting process that leaks margin, a production schedule that nobody trusts, an inventory system that's basically a spreadsheet and a prayer. You scope the problem, build the solution, get it running, and hand it off so it sticks.

You don't need someone standing over your shoulder. You manage your own work, communicate when it matters, and deliver what you said you'd deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own specific improvement projects from start to finish — scoping, planning, implementation, and handoff
  • Work with the Fractional Operations Leader to turn the strategic roadmap into concrete deliverables with real timelines
  • Get into the current-state process, find where it's actually breaking, and design something better that the team will actually use
  • Build the operational tools: dashboards, scheduling templates, quoting workflows, inventory controls, SOPs — whatever the engagement needs
  • Implement on the ground — train people, configure systems, stand up new processes, and pressure-test them before you leave
  • Track progress against KPIs and flag problems early instead of burying them in a status update
  • Document everything so the client's team can run it and improve it after you're gone
  • Deliver measurable results: shorter cycle times, better accuracy, lower costs, more throughput

What You'll Bring

Your Expertise

  • You've worked inside manufacturing operations — ideally job shops or contract manufacturers.
  • You can map a process, find the bottlenecks, and design a better workflow without overengineering it. Simple beats clever.
  • You're comfortable building ERP systems, spreadsheets, and BI tools
  • You've implemented changes in a real shop that actually survived after you walked out the door.

How You Work

  • You manage your own workstream without needing to be closely managed
  • You communicate progress, blockers, and trade-offs clearly to both the engagement lead and the client
  • You work well with shop floor employees who may not be thrilled about someone coming in and changing how they do things
  • You document your work so it's actually useful to the people who inherit it

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP Business One, Dynamics, Epicor, JobBOSS, or similar) — configuration and reporting experience is a plus
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets at a minimum, and familiarity with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience building SOPs, mapping processes, and managing change in shops where "that's how we've always done it" is the default
